April
Hello to you all i hope everyone is fantastic and still happy writing. Please remember that if you have any problems by all means email us and we will attempt to help you out in any way.
Meets.
This months meets will be on the 16th and the 30th, due to this coming monday being a bank holiday. By having the meets on these dates it keeps us and one week on one week off.
something Special.
I hope this will be as exciting for you as it is for Scribbles HQ. The other day we had a post on the blog if you have not already seen it from George Gunby. He is the co-ordinator of the Belper Short play Festival. He will be popping along to the 16th meet to invite us all to the three-day festival which is being held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of June. We might do something on that meet and the next that works alongside this event. Maybe a little break from our stories to try something new and get ourselves out of our comfort zones.
See you all at the meets.
This months meets are on the 12th and the 26th
Writing activities
We are gradually getting into a routine with some writing exercises and plenty of word wars. We will eventually have a fully structured meet, as they say ‘slow and steady win the race’.
Please remember if you wish to add anything to the newsletter, email us at belperscribbles@gmail.com. All ideas and comments welcome.
Just a reminder that this months meets are the 13th and the 27th. If you require the scribbles calender you can download it from the bottom.Meet the Scribbles.
Previously stated in last months newsletter, you can have a brief description of yourself and the project you are currently working on. This is for anyone to do, whether you have been to one or all the meets or you have seen the scribbles blog and wish to be a member.
Writing Activities.
We are currently improving the activities for our meets. The schedule is now looking like a productive schedule. we will update you as soon as possible. If you have any ideas please email us at belperscribbles@gmail.com. Any ideas welcome.
If you have anything you wish to post in The Scribbler please email us and we would be happy to add.

January 2012
January Newsletter
Hello to all the Scribbles out there (8 people). We decided at scribble HQ that a monthly newsletter to all the scribblers would, not only let everyone know about the things we have planned for the month ahead but help our little community grow!
The meets
We’ve decided on a formula for the meets to hopefully make them easier to remember. Scribbles meets will be every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, 4 to 10pm. The calendar below is a quick overview of the year.
Booking the meeting room.
At the moment the scribbles meets have around 6 to 8 people at any one time. This not only makes it hard to get round one table in the room down stairs room but after sugar consumption it can get pretty loud.
We decided the best idea was to hire the upstairs meeting room for the meet days. This costs £10 for the day which we thought was quite reasonable. We would be eternally grateful if each member could donate one pound every meet to help cover the cost of the room. If more people start turning up then the cost per scribbler will go down.
Meet the Scribbles
Hopefully all of you have visited the Belper Scribbles website http://belperscribbles.wordpress.com/ (If not go there now, to look at the pretties)
While surfing through the pages and links you may have noticed we have a new tab at the top Meet the Scribblers! We would like all our members to just give us a brief bit of information about themselves and their current writing project. You’re not obliged to give us anything but it will be nice to see what your all doing, and track your progress.
Writing Activities
Nearly there!
We are going to be having writing activities scheduled each meet from 7 till 9. These will mainly be warm ups and word wars but if any one has any ideas give us an email and we’ll look into it.
NaNoFiMo (National Novel Finishing Month)
Last and final note. I promise.
We are half way through NaNo FiMo. If you decided to take part you should be at around the half way mark. My writing died from fear of editing, it shrivelled up and died (but you can still make a big impact on your novel, whether it be editing the first few chapters to near perfection or getting to the finishing line of your plot. Don’t give up!) ??
I hope your all doing ok, with writing and life. Hope to see you all at the next meet, 23rd January.

Hi guys, I’ll be there later on – drop in on way to see car in derby, then later on for a longer spell. I’ve finished my novel – 51,500 words – I’ll be working on my first one tonight, which needs a massive edit! Looking forward to it
